In an effort to be a more rewarding platform for creators, Twitter has announced a new policy that will let creators who have an active Twitter Blue subscription share ad revenue with them. The move comes after YouTube's YouTube Partner Program, which is similar, went live.

Only ads that appear in a creator's reply threads are affected by the new policy, and creators must pay a monthly fee of at least $11 for Android users to keep their Twitter Blue subscriptions active. This fee gives them access to other benefits on Twitter, such as the ability to upload longer, higher-quality videos and see the number of tweets.

To get the Twitter Blue Verified checkmark, which is needed to make money from ads, you need a display name, a profile photo, and a confirmed phone number. The account must also have been open for more than 90 days and can't look like it's trying to trick or mislead people. If the account's username, display name, or profile photo is changed after it has been verified, the Blue Verified checkmark may be taken away temporarily.

Twitter is starting to share ad revenue because users were worried about the stability of the platform and the ability of content creators to make money from their work. In recent years, the platform has added ways for creators to make money, such as Super Follows, Ticketed Spaces, and a monetization dashboard.

It's important to know that the legacy Blue Verified checkmark does not make an account eligible for ad revenue sharing. Twitter can also take away a checkmark at any time, so it's important for creators to follow the rules of the platform.

In an ongoing effort to reduce the number of bots on the platform, Twitter also announced that its API will no longer be free. Even though there have been rumors that Twitter's ad revenue could go down, new data from DataReporting shows that advertisers on Twitter are doing better. From January 2022 to January 2023, the number of people who saw ads went from 436.4 million to 556 million, making Twitter the third most popular social network in the world based on monthly unique visitors and page views.

In conclusion, Twitter's new policy of sharing ad revenue with creators is a big step toward making the platform more rewarding for people who want to make money off of their content. Creators on Twitter are living in an exciting time because ad reach is growing and the platform is becoming more popular.
